Collective Haul

I remember being little and raiding my mom’s makeup bag. I thought everything was so cool and special. I remember thinking that Maybelline seemed magical, because it had such pretty, sparkly products in tiny, special packages. When I became old enough to know what makeup was, but still didn’t have any of my own, I remember sneaking into that same bag of my mom’s makeup.

Let’s just say that their Great Lash mascara (in blue) was a real learning point for me. I put blush on my eyelids and made myself look like I had some disease, and even the brown mechanical eyeliner (you know the one) wasn’t something I could figure out! (I thought it was for my lips- imagine how GREAT that looked!) It’s very clear I’ve come a long way since those days, but they are still so special to me! I think of my mom every time I see Maybelline, but now I am buying it for myself!

I decided to do a 1 brand tutorial with Maybelline for an easy, 5 minute, everyday look. I put an emphasis on making the skin look flawless and the lashes look so good they seem fake! And of course, I topped it off with a bright, bold lip. Check out the video tutorial I have done for you (and the step by step of products I’ve used to get this look) below.

Complexion: Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation and Fit Me Concealer

I applied both of these evenly to my skin (which was already cleaned and moisturized.) I blended out the foundation with a sponge, and I blended the concealer with my fingers first to really work it in, and then with a sponge to perfect it. Since the foundation is matte, I really didn’t need to set the foundation with a powder. It does a great job of staying put on my face all day without being set.

Blush: Maybelline Face Studio Master Hi-Light in Nude

I really love a luminous blush, especially when I use a matte foundation. I think it adds some health and youth back into the face. For this one, I just dusted the blush across my cheek bones, and then added a bit to my temples and other high points on my face. The nude color is great as a 3-in-1 type of product if you are very pale (like me.) It puts a pretty blush onto the skin, adds a luminous highlight, and is still brown enough to act as a bronzer to warm up the face.

Eyebrows: Maybelline Eyestudio Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara

Most of the time, I use the clear Great Lash mascara to just make sure my eyebrows stay put, but if you didn’t notice, my brows are pretty unruly right now. I am in the process of growing them out to reshape them, so I needed something with a bit of tint in them, but would still have them stay still! This Brow Drama product is perfect to fill in sparse brows quickly, then you can be out the door and on your merry way in no time!

Eyeshadow: Maybelline The Nudes Palette

This is the best eyeshadow palette you can find in a drugstore, that’s for sure! This palette has 12 neutral shades that range from matte to shimmery. You can create countless looks to take you from work to the weekend with this palette! I love the size, and always find myself throwing it into my makeup bag for trips. This specific look I create was a smoky-bronze look that accented my blue eyes well and took no time at all!

Mascara: Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara

This stuff is amazing. *Drops mic.* I feel like I don’t have to explain myself, you can see from my photos that not only do my lashes look amazing, but you can actually see them! My short, sparse, stubborn lashes don’t usually do anything I want them to, but the Push Up Drama Mascara has them looking drool-worthy. My favorite part of the mascara is definitely the brush. It’s a rubbery one, and the bristles cup each lash and coats them with the creamy, plumping formula. It just adds tons of volume to my lashes, which I really need!

Lips: Maybelline Lip Studio Color Blur in Orange Ya Glad

Yes, I am glad! I am glad this color exists! I thoroughly enjoy lip products in the thick lip pencil form with a twist up package. These Lip Studio Color Blur colors are all gorgeous, affordable, and extra pigmented. I decided to bust out a bright, bold orange, which I found fitting with my graphic black and white shirt. I love the pop of color with the neutral face!
