A Gift for All Five Senses Katy Perry Mad Potion

It’s no secret that creating a gift basket or goodie bag can be challenging. Something I really like to try to do when I make them is to be sure to cover all five senses. This makes a well-rounded, memorable basket that is certain to please. Last night, I was putting together a gift for one of my girliest girlfriend’s Christmas present and thought I would share this helpful technique with you all!

TASTE: You can’t go wrong with including candies or sweets for taste! Other options are bottles of wine, gift cards to an awesome restaurant, or even some granola bars for your health nut friend.

TOUCH: When I think of touch, I really love something comfy. I decided to put in these comfy shorts for my friend, but you could include a pair of fuzzy socks, a nice blanket, a sequined blouse, or anything else that would play up the texture. You know what your friends and family will like, and I know my gal will love these comfy (and adorable) shorts!

SMELL: What applies itself better to memory than scent? I can think back to each of my friends and know their smell. I can be walking in a mall and smell an old friend or an ex like it was just yesterday! That’s why I ALWAYS choose a perfume or cologne for smell. To make matters even easier, I suggest choosing one of the Coty Holiday Gift Sets. They are reasonably priced, are packaged beautifully, and you can find them at Walmart! There is something for everyone in these sets!

I chose Katy Perry’s Mad Potion for this friend. It’s a sweet, but not sugary scent. I love the warm undertone of vanilla in it. I think it’s great for women of any age, but the packaging is also fun and poppy! Other sets by Coty are Beyonce, Nautica, Vera Wang, and Stetson!

SIGHT: I think that this whole set is aesthetically pleasing, but when I think of finding something specifically great for this friend who loves all things girly, I chose a pretty necklace. There is a lot of texture in it, which makes it very unique to look at! Other options are photos, artwork, or other knick-knacks that just look appealing.

SOUND: You could go a lot of places with sound, but my personal preference is music. Whether the person is a record collector, a steadfast CD kind, or an MP3 person, you can easily get them some good sounds. For this friend, I am sending them the newest Adele album via iTunes. I think it is the perfect album for gifting your girlfriends…if they don’t already own it!

Appealing to all five senses really does apply itself to memory. How will you give the gift of memory this year?
