Hip, Hip HOORAY! And a Happy New Year 2017!

It’s 2017! Happy New Year! If you’ve been around long at all, you will know that I LOVE New Year’s. I LOVE new beginnings, so resolutions are right up my alley. I am passionately against those who say “Resolutions are so dumb, blah blah blah!” or things like “IF I HAVE TO SEE ANOTHER RESOLUTION…” It’s basically wishing for your friends to fail to see resolutions be banished. Shouldn’t we be happy for our friends that they have realized their poor habits and want to dedicate themselves to correcting the issue at hand. Loosen up people! *End yearly rant.*

This past year has been a different one for me. I feel like every year when I look back at my resolutions, I’m reaching these goals that I set before me. Usually the only ones I don’t meet are to have a baby and to lose XX pounds. Nothing too shocking there, but this year I had things end I wasn’t ready to call quits on quite yet. Who likes to lose their job just before the holidays? Who really decides to have a major surgery and then have to wait and wait to actually be scheduled? If you’re interested in seeing my new, revised resolutions for 2017- read below!

  1. Figure Some Stuff Out– I mean, it sounds pretty general, but since I was blessed enough to be relieved from a job that I feel (and many others feel) were not using me to the best of my abilities, utilizing my skills, and really finding the right people to help me grow as an employee and person in general. Don’t get me wrong, there were things I LOVED about my last job, but I was unfulfilled, so the blessing in disguise for the year was being laid off. In 2017, I am taking my time to find a job that fits my passions, or allows me the time to pursue my passions while still helping to pay the bills.
  2. Shed Some Weight– Always and forever saying I want to do this, but this year I am actually taking a serious action toward doing so. In a previous post, I filled you in on my decision to have Weight Loss Surgery. I plan on doing an update, but the gist of it is that I am currently waiting for a final okay from insurance and then a date for the surgery will be on the books!

That’s all. This year, my list is short and sweet. These are things that really need a lot of my attention, so of course I have GOALS set for my business and my personal life, but the two I have listed above are really necessary and by golly, I am going to make them happen!

Happy New Year to you all again! If you’ve made resolutions, I REALLY would love to see them in the comments below.
