Back Alley Summer Session – Plus Size OOTD

When you are back-alley photo-taking in the middle of August, three things will happen.

  1. You will get eaten alive by mosquitos.
  2. You will almost get run over 25 times.
  3. You will share your darkest secrets with your blogger besties.

I say that I could live without number 1 and 2, but probably not number 3. I mean, I REALLY needed number three. So I am glad my girls would just listen to me vent…and support my madness. Check out their posts respectively on bighairandfoodiefare.com & fashionatelyme.com.

In other news, HOW CUTE IS THIS OUTFIT. I love it because it’s simple (as always) and great to wear in months like August and September. Those are the months I am most looking forward to fall but still sweating like crazy and can’t pop on my cashmere.

This Vince. t-shirt (in large) is light and dainty, but the burnt orange color is a perfect transition piece. I can see myself wearing it year-round, and I most definitely will do so. Just a fair warning, I have used this shirt multiple ways for a few of my next outfit posts. You all know that I am working on narrowing down my wardrobe and focusing on quality over quantity, so I wanted to share how a more expensive, quality t-shirt that’s not just a standard black or white can be worn in many different ways! Be on the lookout for those outfits soon!

The jean skirt with the buttons up the front trend has been going strong this year, and I finally got my hands on and can fit into this skirt (in size 20) I picked up a while back from Forever 21. It’s another piece I will drag into fall with me and wear sweaters with. I love fluidity in my wardrobe from season to season- that way I can wear my favorite pieces all the time!

Shoes are Betula by Birkenstock. I love that they have the Birkenstock feel and fit, but they have the “slide” style and a much cheaper price tag. They’re very casual but modern, and I can get behind that combo!
