Winter Skin Tips Featuring PMD Personal Microderm

This post is in collaboration with PMD Beauty and the PRIMP Network, but all opinions are my own.

Winter skin is the bane of my existence. I hate being flaky and dry, but my dry/normal skin can’t quite get enough to quench it’s thirst in the winter. I’ve had times where I won’t even think of wearing makeup because it sits on my dry skin and peels off. I still have some dry days, but I have come up with a simple routine to kick the winter skin blues.

This post is in collaboration with PMD Beauty’s Personal Microderm Device. I’ve been using this device for just under 2 months now and have seen a great result, although I feel like I need some more time to share some long-lasting results with you. So be on the lookout for another update in the future! You can read below to see my best tips for treating winter skin!

EXFOLIATE

That dry skin that’s hanging on for dear life needs to be let go. If you’re anything like me, you have a reoccurring of this yucky stuff, so it’s important to make sure your getting all of the dead skin off so you can move on to adding moisture to prevent this from happening.

I’m currently using and loving the PMD Beauty Personal Microderm Device. If you’re unfamiliar, the Personal Microderm is an at-home skincare tool that gives you the same results as an in-office, professional microdermabrasion treatment. It’s a FRACTION of the cost and you can see results after your very first session! It uses their Patented Spinning Disc technology along vacuum suction to make your skin look fresh and radiant. It’s suggested to use weekly to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes and enlarged pores.

You can see my before and after at 6 weeks above. I have personally noticed a difference in radiance, pore size, and redness. My face is red right after since I have very sensitive skin, but after it settles down a bit more it looks glowing and is ready to receive the moisture I need to pump back into my skin because it removes the top layer of dead skin.

ADD IN MOISTURE

Find a lotion, gel or cream to add the moisture back into your face that it so desperately needs in this dry climate! Once you use your PMD Microderm Device, you will want to take advantage of the fact that you removed all the dead skin from your face. It is the best time to add back in some moisture.

So many people think that they do not need moisturizer if they have oily skin as well- but that’s not true! You need to hydrate your skin so that you can keep it all regulated. If you have oily skin, it’s likely that your pores are producing oil to overcompensate. Try a gel lotion and see how much your oil improves!

HYDRATE

Don’t think you can just put lotion or serum or oil on the surface of your skin and it be enough! You need to remember to drink enough water to keep hydrated. It really does make a difference in your skin’s quality! Experts say you should drink half of your body weight in ounces. If you weigh 200 pounds, you would drink 100 ounces of water per day. Try it!

KEEP YOUR LIPS KISSABLE

It’s second nature for me to slather my lips in balm or chapstick. Remember, your lips are skin as well, and they need to be kept after! My suggestion is to find a great balm that you love, and if nothing else, put it on in the evenings before bed. You will know you have a great balm when you can still feel it on in the morning!

TREAT YO’SELF

I don’t mean go out and buy yourself a new outfit…even though you should! I mean take the time to treat your skin to something special. Make it a ritual to do a mask on Mondays whilst you watch The Bachelor! Or start a nightly routine where you add in a special serum or oil. Just do something extra that feels like a treat that will benefit your skin!
