FREEZER MEAL TIPS & IDEAS

If there’s one thing I am passionate about, it’s freezer stuff. Really, you can ask my husband. I get much more worked up over what goes in and out of our freezers than anything else in life. I tapped into the magic of freezing things, and now I can’t stop! I thought I would do a round-up post with all my favorite suggestions for things to freeze using your favorite recipes, and some tips to make it all happen smoothly!

Whether you’re a single person looking to freeze individual meals for homemade variety, a busy parent of too many kids who needs something fast, or a new mom who just wants a (sometimes) warm meal with minimal effort after the baby is here– I have some tips and ideas here for everyone!

FREEZER COOKING TIPS

  • The Dollar Tree is a great source for all your pans. Whether you want to get aluminum throw away pans, plastic containers, or reusable metal pans, they have it all! The metal ones they have aren’t amazing quality, but once they start to get warped and worn from multiple times in the freezer, they can easily be replaced!
  • Wrap the whole pan in plastic wrap and then top with foil for the best protection.
  • If you have a smaller family, you can take a whole (8 person) casserole recipe and split it up into 2 or 4 serving pans! More dinners and less chance of having to throw out uneaten leftovers!
  • Don’t freeze a recipe you haven’t tried! (And definitely don’t double a recipe you haven’t tried.)
  • Try my one for now, one for later method to get fresh dinner on the table for TONIGHT and another dinner on the table when future you is too busy to make anything from scratch!
  • If your family isn’t big on casseroles or you’re trying to lay off carbs/need more flexibility, try freezing proteins in marinades! It can give you some variety without the full commitment of a meal.
