IT’S OKAY TO PRESS PAUSE – My Thoughts on Social Media

I realize that I share SO MUCH of myself online, but I haven’t yet shared my feelings on being overwhelmed by the task of posting on social media! It’s a very real thing, especially if you’ve made a business of it like I have. We all have pressures of posting, whether it’s the cute new outfit you wore to a party or the fact that you visited your mom on Mother’s Day! It’s become the norm, but man- it can be really tiring!

Personally, I have had a lot going on! They have all been great things, and I think I have done a bit to share them all with you, but I have LOVED sitting back a bit and posting less. (All the photos are over the last few months including my adorable niece, husband, family, friends, and Joey (my purrfect cat.) I have more time to just cuddle with my cats, binge-watch some TV, keep the house more clean, visit with friends and family, and be spontaneous with my husband! I have been known to spend every hour of every day making sure I have a new post or two up every day, and it’s been nice to chill, take time for myself, and say YES when my husband asks for a spontaneous trip to our favorite sub place that’s almost an hour away!

I say alllllll of this to say that I still LOVE writing this blog. I still enjoy posting on social media, but whether you are an Influencer or just an everyday social media consumer, it is PERFECTLY OKAY to press pause. Do other things. Don’t feel compelled to post the perfect photo at the perfect time of day and link 42 similar pieces of clothing for people to buy. Don’t feel like you MUST like every single post that your friends put up and comment in hopes that they see that you saw and will then ultimately return the favor.

Use social media however much or however little your heart desires. If you need a slow down or to press pause, or hell, to even press STOP for a while- that is OKAY. I’m right there with you, sisters! If you see me posting a little less, just assume I’m enjoying life. If you see me posting some more, just assume I am in the mood and have made the time!

I hope this post was helpful for you. It’s a simple reminder that you don’t have to be going at full speed at all times! Take some time, enjoy your life, and post or comment when you WANT to. Also, I highly recommend taking some REALLY unflattering photos that capture a moment you love and POST THEM ANYWAY. (See below.)

LOVE YOU GUYS.
