A WORD ON CHANGING BODIES & SHOPPING SHORTS

It’s been a while since I’ve written about fashion on my blog. To be honest, in the last few years, I have done a huge overhaul with what I wear for myself vs what I wear because of “fashion.” My body has changed size and shape multiple times from having weight loss surgery, to quickly getting pregnant, to adding on weight in “survive being a mom” mode to then adding on MORE weight during the “eat to survive quarantine” mode.

It’s been a lot, and I am sure you can relate to the pains of fluctuating weight and the ever-changing woman’s body. While I had gone silent on the subject, I do realize that SO MANY WOMEN have this “problem” and I would love to keep sharing size-inclusive things that I am loving. Even if I’m not going to add them to my streamlined closet, or even if they are so boring that you guys might unsubscribe if I share another pair of damn jeans… I do love fashion and want to share more on my platform!

With that being said, let’s talk SHORTS. I posted the photo above the other day on my Instagram story. Let’s face reality, it’s because I didn’t love how I look and stories are easier to share if a picture isn’t PERFECT. I got 8 messages of women asking where I got my shorts. (I also got a dozen messages telling me how cute Clara and I look. Time to take this sweet memory to the Insta feed, I think!)

Those shorts are probably 8 years old. I got them at Gap FOREVER ago. They are my all-time favorite. I used to have a pair in navy and I wore them so much and they were so tight on me that I ripped the butt out of them. I have searched every season to see if Gap is bringing them back by chance They always have a version of them, but not QUITE right. These ones I have kept and worn ranging from 330 lbs all the way down to 230 lbs! Amazing sisterhood of shorts shit right there!

I thought I would share some good shorts with you all today! These are options that are good coverage for us mamas who gotta get down and bend over and people who don’t want their crotch hanging out. Hope you enjoy!

Shop Gina Celeste (Size Inclusive, favorite boutique!)

GAP is a CLASSIC summer staple!
I shop their straight sizes (XL or XXL.) Their XXL (20) is typically my favorite fit, but I like XL (18) as well. (I’m a size 18/20.)

Madewell- my favorite shop for jeans & effortlessly cool pieces. They go a full range of sizes, but remember that they do number sizes. I think European style? I wear a 35 or 36 in their sizes, depending on if there is any stretch in the fabric. I haven’t purchased any shorts from them, but they have SUCH CUTE options.

I hope you enjoyed a look into my heart about why I haven’t posted much fashion lately. I’ll try to change that! Where are your favorite spots to shop for shorts? Share with me in the comments below or on Instagram!
