cat adoptiversary

I’ve been doing a lot of begging lately. I REALLY want a new kitten! My husband says we should wait, but I mean…I can’t help but want what I want! Looking online at pets who need adopted make me remember when Brett surprised me with our big guy, Joey! He got him from a shelter, and when I came home, I was beyond surprised and excited to have a new member of the family. He makes us laugh every day, he’s the cutest cuddler, loves to play anytime, and gives us sweet kisses!

I mean, right now he’s sitting here being adorable while I’m writing this post! He’s the best!

Since we did adopt him, we don’t know his birthday, so we celebrate his Adoptiversary with toys and treats! I suggest that if you are looking to adopt a new cat, make the day special every year. Kittens deserve a special day too! Below, you can find the contents of Joey’s big basket of goodies, and how to make your cat’s basket feel complete and special as well.

Cat Nip: What cat doesn’t love a little fun? You can put it into toys, but it comes in some other forms, too! You can spray it onto a scratching post for them, but my favorite version of cat nip has to be BUBBLES! We are including this in Joey’s basket, but we haven’t gotten them out for play time yet. Probably will tonight!

Fun Toys: When we were shopping for the contents of this basket, we took special care in picking out a toy for our guy. He LOVES to play, but he’s rough on things, so he can easily tear them apart! We opted for a big yarn ball that is pretty sturdy. It holds a noisemaker inside, and he think it’s pretty cool. We also got him a Hide ‘n Play, which he likes, but doesn’t want to climb into. I had to throw in his new snacks just to make him go inside!

Kitty Treats: This is a big one for Joey, since he’s such a foodie. We got him the IAMS™ Hairball Care and Oral Care treats. It’s important that we give him treats that are tasty for him, but also help him out and serve a purpose. He thinks these are just the best things ever! I even caught him trying to chomp on the packaging when I walked into the living room from the kitchen. I highly suggest them for your cat friends, and you can find them at Walmart.

Delicious food: Our Joey eats dry food, so he thinks it’s a special treat when he gets wet food. This time, we opted for the IAMS™ Purrfect Delights Tuna/Salmon Dinner Wet Cat Food. He prefers flaked over pate, but he GOBBLED this one down in no time. Again, you can find these at Walmart, and if my little foodie loved it, I am sure yours will too!

This year, don’t forget to treat your cat to a special Cat Adoptiversary gift! Now I am off to try to convince my husband to take in another. Wish me luck!!
