FAMILY ROAD TRIP – LOEWS CHICAGO O’HARE

LOEWS LOVES FAMILIES

Pre-baby, my husband and I were King and Queen of the road trip. Living in Indianapolis, we have a whole slew of Midwest treasures near us. We can make it to Cleveland, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Nashville, and more all within 5 hours! Our favorite to visit, and luckily for us, the CLOSEST to visit is Chicago.

We opted to do our Babymoon in Chicago, so our last getaway B.C. (or BEFORE CLARA) was Chicago. Now, since we have had Clara, we have ventured to spaces where we would be staying with family, such as Cleveland, but we have not done a little family getaway…until now!

We are so excited to partner with the Loews group of hotels to share their Family Road Trip package as part of their Loews Loves Families initiative! Loews puts a strong emphasis on the power of family, keeping the weary tiny travelers entertained, and keeping Mommy and Daddy happy and comfortable. If you would like to read more about the Family Road Trip package offerings, with favorites of mine, such as FREE PARKING, milk and cookies delivered for kiddos, and free breakfast options, then click here!

We started out our trip after I got done with an early work day on a Friday evening. We drove about 2.5 hours to the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel. This location is near the airport in Rosemont, IL. We are very familiar with this area, because we love to stay in Rosemont for our weekend trips. As a family, we are HUGE lovers of outlet shopping, and my husband and I may have been known to frequent casinos B.C. as well.

Upon check in, the staff made us feel so comfortable. They even had a crib set up in the room for Clara! (Pro tip: always ask for a crib to be set up so you don’t have to lug around a pack-n-play everywhere you go!)

After we came into the room, explored all the sweet gifts the front desk left us from Flavors, a collection of goodies inspired by the area, did a tour of the hotel (that you can find in my LOEWS Instagram highlight,) and got our stuff settled in, we went off to dinner!

We decided Clara needed to experience her first deep dish pizza, so we went to Gino’s East. We aren’t super loyal to any pizza spot, but neither of us have tried Gino’s! It was less than 10 minutes away and was DELICIOUS!

When we came back from dinner, we were ready to head up to our room, get cozy, and take a bath in the gorgeous, gigantic bathroom. Clara is a BIG bath fan, so she had fun splashing around in the tub with mama. It put her in a SUPER SLEEPY mood, she gnawed on a cookie, had her bottle of milk (formula), and quickly fell asleep!

The hotel offers free milk and cookies for kids, and since ours is so little, we figured BETTER FOR US! She had other plans and insisted on trying it. Needless to say, we can all give our approval of their cookies!

The Loews Chicago O’Hare desk provided us with a list of activities, both indoor and outdoor, as well as restaurants around the area, and emergency stations! We decided that the Museum of Contemporary Art was calling our name, but that we would wait until Sunday. Instead, we decided to visit the trusty favorite for our family, The Fashion Outlets of Chicago. It’s an indoor outlet mall, and they have stores like Carter’s, Nike, and Forever 21, as well as high-end outlets like Gucci, Burberry, and Prada.

BUT FIRST, we ordered room service breakfast. And it was actually the best bacon we have ever had. Brett said next time he would order bacon with a side of bacon….and of course he LOVED the mini ketchup bottles!

After this adventure, we had some lunch and made our way DOWNTOWN for an adventure with ANOTHER Loews Hotel! If you’re interested in hearing about how we took the city by storm with the baby and all, be sure to stick around, because that post will be up later this week!

Again, if you’re interest in booking a trip to one of the Loews hotels for the Family Roadtrip package, that special is going on through September 30th, 2019! You can book one room and get another for 50% off! Large families, this is PERFECT for you!

  1. Sounds like you had a great, baby friendly trip! Chicago is one of my favorite cities as well and love that you can get there in less than 3 hours (usually).

  2. My family LOVES Chicago! We used to visit pretty regularly when we lived closer, now that we are in the Indianapolis area we cherish those Chicago trips even more. You can’t go wrong with a hotel package in the Windy City!

  3. So fun! I’ve never heard of a hotel catering to kids like this. My kids would go crazy over the milk and cookies! And I love how the room is styled!!

  4. Her smiles are priceless! I think my kids would go crazy there, they have a thing for hotel beds. Definitely worth a visit with the family ♥️

  5. We haven’t been to Chicago for a minute but I definitely think we should go soon and stay Lowes O’Hare. Seriously, free parking and the accommodations for kids is awesome because sometimes hotels forget to accommodate families.

  6. I have always loved Chicago and I am looking forward to taking the boys. This looks like a great hotel to stay in with kids. I will have to check it out for next Chicago trip.
