2015 Resolutions: Health, Wealth, Local Eats, Books & Beauty

Happy New Year to some of my favorite people! I hope 2014 treated you well, and I am sure 2015 has many, many great things in store for you. Since I am a firm believer in resolutions, I thought I would share mine with you! Best of luck in setting and implementing yours as well. If you want to know what I plan on accomplishing this year, just keep on reading!

  1. Improve my health. This one may seem simple enough, but I totally failed at it last year. This year, Brett and I are off to a great start! We have made it a point to take before pictures, rid our pantry of JUNK, purchased a gym membership, and even went to the gym today when all we wanted to do was be lazy! Of course, I have a goal weight I would like to be at, but the most important for me is controlling my PCOS and getting my body ready to host a baby sometime in the future!
  2. Improve my wealth. I’m not talking about a get-rich scheme! I am talking about not spending frivolously, paying off debts, and pushing more money into our savings. We did a great job last year in setting some foundation, but this year I know we can wrangle the finances and be strict enough to get it all under control.
  3. Eat at 10 local places we have never been before. I can’t be the only one who gets in a rut and just pulls into Taco Bell for 3 nights in a row! Brett and I want to go places we’ve never been before, experience all the tastes Indianapolis has to offer! I think it’s a really FUN resolution, and shouldn’t be hard to do!
  4. Read 10 books. Last year I read 4 books (that weren’t text books.) I LOVE reading, so there is really no excuse as to why I don’t read more often. I find that when I read more, I write better (which is awesome for someone who blogs, like me.) I’m starting the year off with Amy Pohler’s “Yes Please,” and I don’t think I could have chosen a better one to start out with.
  5. Use up 35 beauty products. I find that a lot of time, being a beauty blogger, I feel pressured to buy and buy more things so that I can report back and share the best new things with you guys. In the background, I have 15 eyeshadow palettes not being touched, 6 unopened facial moisturizers, 5 mascaras I need to use up before they go bad, and countless sample sized products I hardly dig into. (These are all clearly exaggerated, but not by much!)I’m not saying I am not going to buy anything new (I love my beauty products, y’all!) I am saying I want to try to use up much of the stuff I have before buying more, whether they be full or sample size. I feel like I might be able to do more than 35, but it’s a conservative number (20+15…get it?)

HAPPY NEW YEAR! CHEERS TO A NEW YOU!
