INDY SALT CAVE

A few weeks back, I had the opportunity to visit the Indy Salt Cave with some of my faves. (A huge thank you to Indianapolis Salt Cave for hosting us!) If you haven’t heard of the Indy Salt Cave, it could just be because it’s pretty new. (They opened in March this year.) But believe me, it’s a pretty cool experience and there are many benefits to salt therapy! I’ve got a lot of photos to share, but it’s hard getting them in that dark spot! You should definitely book in some salt therapy. It was a really cool experience!

Before we get into my experience, I just want to point out that my salt cave exploration outfit was c/o Storq- my favorite maternity brand I’ve tried thus far! I’m LIVING in this jump suit they sent! Jump suit is a size 6, although I probably could have gone with a 5 and it still be comfortably over-sized.

When you come in, you immediately see all the cool salt gear you can take home with you along with some teas and oils. They ask you to slip on some pretty cool foot gear to wear into the cave to keep the salt that lines the floor of the cave more clean.

When you are getting ready to enter the salt cave, you can grab a warm salt brick to hold in the cave. It’s a little cool in there, so they also give you a blanket and suggest wearing layers. My pregnant self didn’t use any of those things, because #hormones. (PS YES! It is safe to do salt therapy while pregnant!)

We had a super relaxing time. You can check out Ashley & Kate getting their relax on above. Also, my camera WOULD NOT take a photo of Kelli, so sorry if you’re really interested in seeing her relaxing- you’re out of luck. Just know she was pretty good at it.

The inside of the cave has salt covered floors, salt lamps and bricks on the walls, is decorated to look like an actual cave, and has halo-therapy, which basically pumps salt into the air of the room. Salt therapy can promote better breathing, healthier skin, sounder sleep, improved physical fitness and endurance and overall wellness. Dry salt therapy also helps to alleviate symptoms of many respiratory and skin conditions. I left feeling relaxed, my sinuses draining noticeably, and my lips tasting like salt.

They offer a few more treatments that I didn’t get the chance to try. They offer red light therapy and hand and foot detox. Both sound REALLY cool. I will definitely be back to try the detox- Ashley highly recommends!
